Long
Trail is 6 miles of single-track with a 1700 vertical foot drop
offering everything from tight, technical corners to fast sloping
straight-aways. Perfect for all ages and abilities. Long Trail
takes a rider all over the mountain crossing Lonesome Whistle,
Gambler, and Aces and Eights on the Vasquez Ridge.
The terrain varies from fast flat sections
and small climbs, to tight unexpected turns. At the intersection
of Lower Arapahoe, Upper Cherokee and Long Trail there is
a picnic table to grab a quick snack, have lunch, or just
rest in the middle of lush forest with a spectacular view
of the Fraser Valley.

Upper
Roof of the Rockies offers a taste of everything for the cross-country
enthusiast from small technical climbs, to fast, winding flat
sections. Enjoy the view of the Vasquez Cirque riding across
Hobo Alley, Switchyard and Lonesome Whistle, just before entering
the trees on the backside of Parsenn Bowl. Some exposed tree
roots add an interesting challenge. This is a great trail for
solid riders who want to take a longer 2.35-mile loop with an
initial 80' vertical climb. |

A
moderate single-track trail with very few major hills to negotiate.
For a shorter loop, enjoy this trail as an out-and-back to Fantasy
Meadow and enjoy spectacular wildflowers and views! |

Gunbarrel
is a short trail section that splits off Lower Roof of The Rockies
and leads rider through a small patch of forest. The majority
of the trail is a dirt road that is a catwalk in the winter,
and ends at the bottom of the High Lonesome Express (winter)
lift. Gunbarrel is a great way to connect to Long Trail if you
want you to take an easier route toward the Winter Park Base. |

Fantasy
Meadow is a fun easier loop, accessed via Lower Roof of the
Rockies, and a good way for less-experienced riders to gain
a feel for their wheels. Access Fantasy Meadow by following
Lower Roof of the Rockies .5 miles from the top of the Zephyr
Express lift. Take a minute to enjoy the flowers and lush evergreens
along the trail, and look due West for a great view of the Vasquez
Cirque. |

Mountain Goat is the most technical and challenging
trail on the mountain. The first section starts with steep,
technical turns that merge into rock fields with 3-4 foot
drops off large slabs of rock. The lower section crosses streams
and ends in a tight, fast straightaway on rocky double-track
with a couple of minor woops.
Mountain Goat is the perfect trail to brush
up on your expert trial's skills. We recommend that you never
ride this trail alone. Bring plenty of water for this one
and plan enough time for the ride out. This trail borders
resort boundaries behind Vasquez Ridge and empties onto the
Little Vasquez jeep road near the base of the Pioneer Express.

A
short, fast trail with large water bars and loose surface rocks
that really wakes you up after accessing from the easier Long
Trail. The trailhead splits off of Long Trail where Gambler
and Aces And Eights ski runs merge together. The trail borders
the Lonesome Whistle ski run, and ends on the Little Vasquez
jeep road by the base of the Olympia Express. |

True to its name, this is definitely the
downhiller's trail of choice for reaching thrilling speeds
on the long straight sections. But, watch out for those tight,
loose rocky turns. Although officially rated a blue, this
terrain is very loose, which makes it easy to wash out on
the turns. The trail runs directly under the Zephyr lift and
cuts straight across Balch, Bradley's Bash, Retta's Run, Outrigger,
Cranmer and Allan Phipps ending at Five Points, where many
riders link over to Upper Arapahoe or Cheyenne.
The second section is an easier, shorter
ride with a couple of large switchbacks that cross Allan Phipps,
Cranmer, March Hare and White Rabbit ski runs with a stunning
view of the Continental Divide. A covered tent, emergency
phone and fresh water are located at the Five Points mid-mountain
intersection. Below Five Points, the trail crosses over several
bridges and wooden steps, with steep loose turns and some
large rocks providing natural obstacles. The bottom seciton
of the trail heads down Cramner Cutoff and delivers riders
to the base via multiple switchbacks across Parkway ski trail.

Arapahoe
offers a peaceful, although somewhat technical, single-track
cross-country ride. Moderate uphill climbs lead to faster, sharp
downhill curves dumping onto Lower Arapahoe, where a picnic
table has been placed for a quick rest. Pay attention as you
weave in and out of the trees bordering Tweedle Dee, Mock Turtle
and Tin Horn. See if your ski & ride eyes can recognize which
ski run is which, as summer give the mountain a whole new look. |

Lower
Arapahoe is also a nice, semi-technical cross-country singletrack
trail with fast straightaways and sudden tight switchbacks that
will test riding skills. There are some small technical climbs
with small rocks jutting out of the ground. This trail is really
a favorite of riders who enjoy quiet single-track, because the
entire trail runs through undisturbed land in the Arapahoe National
Forest. |

A
moderate, tight single-track trail that is overgrown by low
hanging tree branches. This trail is very fast and narrow with
little room for passing other riders, but extremely fun. Watch
out for that last right-hand corner as the trail dumps you onto
Tunnel Hill road. Remember to make an immediate right on the
dirt road to connect with Lower Cherokee (see sign on left),
or to ride back to Turnpike or the Long Trail and to the base
of the Resort. |

This
trail starts with a 200 vertical foot climb that has few technical
turns, splitting off Upper Roof of The Rockies. After the technical
climb you will enjoy the views of the Continental Divide as
you ride along the base of Parsenn Bowl to the Timberline lift.
The second part of the trail is a fun 2,200 vertical foot drop
that crosses Bluebell, Roundhouse and Columbine ski runs, where
you have to maneuver through tight rocks and hairpin turns.
If you make it through these sections you can relax and cruise
down a gravel road, the Corona Way ski run, back to the Zephyr
lift. |

Located
just across the road from the Corona Sliding parking lot, Jackelope
starts with a steep, loose, technical climb that will plateau
and take you down a windy, rocky section with hairpin turns
that dumps you out at the Mary Jane Base area. This is a very
challenging trail running through a small patch of forest between
highway 40 and the dirt road leading to the Mary Jane base.
Watch out for those small tree stumps and rocks that will test
your reflexes. |

to the bottom of the Zephyr Express. |
