Racer Categories

*** Your racing age is the age you will be on 12/31/2014. ***

General guidelines for picking a race category:

  • If you hold a NORBA license you should race in the same category as you do in NORBA.
  • Cat 3 racers should race in the Novice or Sport category.
  • Cat 2 racers should race in either the Sport or Expert category.
  • Cat 1 racers should race in either the Expert or Pro category.
  • If you are new to racing you should race in the Novice category.
  • If you have some experience or want a little more competition, you should race in Sport.
  • Experienced and extremely fit racers should race as Experts.
  • Pros, you know who you are.

Any racer who is consistently finishing in the top of a class should move up to the next ability class. You may change classes during the season. If a rider upgrades mid-season and they want to have points count towards the series scoring they must move up before the 3rd race and they will receive one point less than the lowest points awarded for the new category for the previous races.
